Desert Springs’ tournament professional and resident at the Resort, Trish Johnson leads the Ladies European Tour Order of Merit. Trish has been in tremendous form so far this season, last week she finished in second place in the ‘Vediorbis Open de France’, her 5th top ten finish in 7 events and very nearly her second win of the year.

Trish Johnson Eyes up a Birdie Putt!

Playing two groups behind, Trish was the only player likely to catch tournament winner Linda Wesberg as she blazed through the field shooting a 65 on the final day to finish at 278 (-10). Trailing by 3 at the turn Trish birdied 4 of the first 5 holes on the back nine and was left needing a birdie at the last to force a play-off, but a chip from eight feet stopped just two inches short.
Last week’s result also puts Trish in line for automatic ‘Solheim Cup’ selection and will see her team up with Annika Sorenstam and Laura Davies in the match against the USA, which will be played in Sweden in September.
Members and guests of Desert Springs also have the opportunity to team up with Trish Johnson and her tour colleagues in the ‘Golf 4 All Pro-Am’, to be held on the Indiana Course between 6th-8th January 2008.
