TripAdvisor, the internet travel advisory site, has awarded its 2010 Certificate of Excellence to The Desert Springs Resort, Europe’s only international award-winning luxury family resort and championship desert golf course in the Almeria region of south-east Spain.
TripAdvisor is the world’s largest travel review site and is based on reviews from actual travelers who make their own personal recommendations (and “dis-recommendations”) in respect of hotels, resorts, and inns where they have stayed and of travel and holiday packages which they have used. These trustworthy reviews then enable other travelers to plan their own trips in confidence.

The reviews describe the type of visit and enable the traveler to give a personal rating of the many factors contributing to their enjoyment, or otherwise, of their visit. Accommodation is considered in terms of: Value for money, Rooms, Location, Cleanliness, Service and Sleep Quality. These are each scored Excellent, Very Good, Average, Poor or Terrible, just as the reviewer considers appropriate from their own personal experience of the resort. The guest also enters their own personal comments about their experiences.
Over all categories Desert Springs was rated 97.5% Excellent and 2.5% Very Good by TripAdvisor’s reviewers.
