In the early hours of Friday 28th September, an incredible rain storm created what is believed to be the worst floods in the Almeria region since 1986, creating mayhem across southern Spain.
We wish to inform you that Desert Springs Resort & Golf Club, Playa Marques Beach and Villaricos Fishing Village, remain unaffected with no damage being caused to the golf course or property.
Torrential rain brought chaos to the areas of Malaga, Almeria and Murcia and by Saturday morning, the floods had turned many parts of the region into no-go areas. The flooding disrupted communications, road and rail travel with many lines and bridges impassable.
By Saturday evening the heavy rain front had travelled north to Catalonia and the Balearic Islands.
