We are pleased to announce that the best young amateur golfers representing Somerset Golf Union will be the next group of elite golfers that are scheduled to return to Desert Springs Resort & Golf Club to undertake their winter training camp.
This is not the first time Somerset have used Desert Springs to prepare for a new season, having also used the venue as a training camp in 2020.
Somerset Golf Union represents the 30 clubs who are affiliated to the Union and their members. They support the teams that represent Somerset in regional leagues and tournaments and help clubs to develop their members who wish to compete at higher levels.
Between Friday 11th – Wednesday 16th March, ten (10) players representing the Somerset Golf Union and two (2) Coaches will reside at the resort for a five-day intensive training camp to develop their individual golfing skills in warm weather while experiencing a golf course which offers a challenge to players at all levels.
During their time at the resort the players will utilise the excellent practice facilities at the Golf Academy and play the Championship Indiana course.
The players and officials will be accommodated in some of the privately-owned Apartments normally reserved for holidays and short breaks at Desert Springs and the resort’s executive chef will be on hand to cater for the special dietary requirements of individual players dining in the award-winning El Torrente Restaurant.
