New Club Captain, Helen Lavis, started her term in office yesterday and one of her priorities for the year is to encourage more interaction between Members, Property Owners and Guests. To this end, Helen has initiated the Social Roll-Up; a weekly event to be held on Friday evenings at El Torrente Restaurant in the Clubhouse at 6pm.
The Social Roll-Up is intended to be an informal event providing the perfect atmosphere to make new acquaintances, meet up with friends and arrange your social and golfing calendar whilst at Desert Springs. Everyone is welcome at the Social Roll-Up, so even if you are new to the Resort or not sure who is in residence this is a great opportunity to make new friends and keep up to date and in touch with all the news and events taking place during your stay.
Whilst relaxing in the comfort of El Torrente with a glass of red wine or a cool beer and snacking on the delicious, complimentary, tapas you will be able to take the opportunity to arrange everything from an evening in the Crocodile Club to your next game of golf – and if you are feeling confident you can enter the ‘Beat the Pro’s Challenge’ held on Sunday mornings. If taking on two Professional golfers is to much for you, or maybe not enough, then there is always the ‘Captain/Pro Challenge’; a BetterBall Stableford tournament played throughout the year with the team amassing the highest score being awarded the trophy at the end of the Captain’s year in office.
The first Social Roll-Up is being held this Friday, 6th April at El Torrente Restaurant in the Clubhouse at 6pm and we hope you will all be able to attend!
