Ryder Cup Match

Dear Members,

As previously advised, this year’s Ryder Cup Match against La Herrería is to be played at Desert Springs on the 25th, 26th and 27th September 2009, and now is the time to get a strong team of 12 of our members to defend our home turf. We have successfully claimed victory in the past two events at Desert Springs and I am sure that we can put together a team to win once again.

The itinerary for the tournament is as follows:

Friday 25th September
Arrival Day
Ryder Cup Teams Evening Welcome Cocktail @ ‘El Torrente’

Saturday 26th September: Competition Day One
Complimentary use of the Academy practice facilities with pre-reserved team bays
Complimentary buggy’s
Fourball Better-Ball competition
Gala Dinner at ‘El Torrente’

Sunday 27th September: Competition Day Two
Complimentary use of the Academy practice facilities with pre-reserved team bays
Singles competition with the use of Complimentary buggy’s
Prize presentation at the Clubhouse

The cost to Desert Springs members for this two-day tournament will be 45 Euros, all the above included. With positions strictly limited to 12, entries will be on a first come first serve basis with the closing date for entries set at 20th September. If you would like to represent Desert Springs, please express your interest to your Club Captain, Barry Carver or Desert Springs Vice-Captain, Philip Lockyer via e-mail or telephone as soon as possible!

Please remember that the Club has kindly agreed for the Ryder Cup competition rounds not to be deducted from your annual round allowance.
