The Club has been asked to issue the following information by Philip Lockyer, a member of the Competitions Committee acting on its behalf.
Dear Members,
We have now received confirmation of the dates of this years Ryder Cup match between Desert Springs and La Herrería Golf Club. This will be played at Desert Springs on the 25th, 26th and 27th September 2009.
We are now offering those members who have participated in these Ryder Cup matches previously the opportunity of reserving a place in the team before opening the event up to the full membership. As you know from a previous communication, rounds played by Desert Springs members in this tournament are complimentary.
The deadline date for members who have participated in previous editions of this event to secure a place on the team is the 30th April 2009. After this date, any remaining places available on the team will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
The reason for this deadline is that, as other members may need to reserve flights we are aiming to give the maximum amount of notice and ensure that we have a full and enthusiastic team.
La Herrería has now confirmed that the dates selected for them to host the Ryder Cup at La Herrería are the 17th, 18th and 19th July 2009. We are awaiting further details from them respect to accommodation and an itinerary, and we will inform in due course.
