It is with regret that we must inform you that the Madrid Clubs V’s Desert Springs Ryder Cup Match event scheduled for Sunday 2nd August 2009 has been cancelled. This is due to the Clubs’ of Madrid finding it difficult to get the commitment of their members to form a team.
In the past few years, marketing of the Desert Springs Resort and Golf Club has included presentations to a number of selected Golf Clubs in Madrid, Spain. Part of this particular promotional initiative was to develop close relations with these Golf Clubs with the intention of encouraging their members to visit Desert Springs for short golfing breaks.
With this intention, Desert Springs developed agreements with; Real Sociedad de Hípica Española Club de Campo, Club Jarama R.A.C.E., Club de Campo Villa de Madrid, La Moraleja y Club de Golf La Dehesa and La Herrería.
Many of these Clubs’ members have since visited on golfing breaks and experienced the Indiana course and facilities which we offer, all of which has assisted greatly in the awareness and reputation of Desert Springs Golf Club within the Spanish national market.
Whilst it is disappointing to have to cancel this scheduled event we are continuing to develop our relationship with both the Clubs of Madrid and their members and sincerely hope that the event can be re-introduced in the future.
