Professionals Tournament

It gives us great pleasure to announce that Desert Springs has been chosen to host the Spanish Seniors and Ladies Professional Championship, the “Campeonato De España Profesional Senior y Feminino 2007”, from October 31st to the 4th November.

Ricardo Relinque Gimènez-Arnau, representing the Technical Committee of Golf Professionals for the Real Federaciòn Española de Golf was present at Desert Springs during the hosting of the ‘Spanish International Amateur Open’, the “Copa del Rey” or King’s Cup, and commented: –

‘As a consequence of the quality of the Indiana course, the facilities and the professionalism of the team at Desert Springs, it is the wish of the RFEG Professionals Technical Committee to contest the Spanish Seniors and Ladies Professional Championship at Desert Springs’.

Desert Springs Director of Golf, Simon Coaker remarked: –

“Desert Springs has been building its reputation by hosting such prestigious events as the ‘Spanish National Under-21’s Championship in 2002 and the ‘Copa del Rey’ in both 2004 & 2007. The overwhelming success of Desert Springs hosting these events has now culminated in the Resort & Golf Club being host to its first Professional tournament, and it seems only fitting that it should be for the ‘Spanish Seniors and Ladies Professional Championship’. This is yet another positive step forward for the promotion and reputation of the Desert Springs Resort & Golf Club.”

Obviously it is imperative that we give our property owners and members as much notice as possible of the programme of events, enabling them to plan their holidays accordingly.

Firstly, the Indiana course will be open for general play during the event with available tee times allowing for those of the Championship.

Secondly, the Pro-Am has been specifically designed and scheduled to afford our members and property owners the opportunity to play with some of the best Senior and Lady Professionals in Spain. Further details of how to enter will follow shortly!
