Our exceedingly demonstrative Executive Chef, Steve “El Maestro” Pegg, will share some culinary secrets, of a strictly Mediterranean kind, in a series of Cooking Classes, which will be held in the Crocodile Club Kitchen from 12.00h – 13.30h approx., on the last Saturday of every month, from now until end of November, and on Saturday, the 23rd December.
The first in this series of cooking courses will be Spanish concoctions that are typical of the local Almanzora Region. Chef Pegg will be demonstrating the do’s and don’ts of:
All Saturdays
26th August: Burnt Bottom Paella (The best there is!) & Sangria (With a twist!)
30th September: 2 Cold Soups: Ajo Blanco (Almonds & Garlic) & Gazpacho (Tomato etc.)
28th October: 2 Tapas: Ajo Colorado & Empanadillas (Pepper Dip & Mini-Seafood pasties)
25th November: Pardo a la Roteña (Sea Bream a la Roteña)
16th December: Guiso de Garbanzos & Chorizo (Chick Pea & Chorizo Hotpot)
23rd December: Migas (Garlic Wheat Crumb, Pork Scrunchy Bits & a Radish)*
*This is the dish that is prepared in the Hacienda Maintenance building out on the Golf Course, on the 28th December every year, for Owners, Staff & Local Villagers, and which is always an enormous success.
There is a limit to the number of students per class, so booking in advance is essential. Each class costs 30 €uros per person and you will be given four essentials that all chefs need: an apron, a chef’s hat, a glass of wine (or two) and the ingredients. You will also be able to take your creation back home with you, which, of course, may or may not be a good thing!
