Further to the success of their inaugural visit in 2018, Leicestershire County Cricket Club will be stepping up their preparations for the 2020 season campaign by completing a five (5) day warm weather pre-season training camp at the Desert Springs Cricket Ground & Academy between Tuesday 17th – Sunday 22nd March 2020.
Leicestershire are currently in the second division of the County Championship and in Group C of the Pro40 one day league.
The Leicestershire CCC training camp will comprise fourteen (14) players and five (5) coaching staff, all of whom will be spending their time completing a specific and carefully planned programme of numerous training sessions each day covering technical skills, bowling and batting, strength and conditioning and both individual and group activity.
Grass net practice will take place at the Cricket Academy. Strength and conditioning work, running, speed and agility work will be completed at the Cricket Ground and Gym at the Sierras Sports Club.
On Saturday 21st March the camp will culminate with a competitive match at the Desert Springs Cricket Ground against Cambridge University with spectators welcome.
The players and coaches will be accommodated in some of the privately-owned Townhouses and Villas at Desert Springs and the resort’s executive chef will be on hand to cater for the special dietary requirements of individual players dining in El Torrente and the Crocodile Club Restaurant.
