Title: | Sussex Girls Cricket Academy to visit Desert Springs for pre-season warm weather cricket training camp | |
Desert Springs Resort will be host to the Sussex Girls Cricket Academy whilst they step up their preparations for the forthcoming 2019 season by completing a three (3) day warm weather training camp at the Desert Springs Cricket Ground & Academy between Friday 8th – Monday 11th March 2019.
Cricket for the Women & girls game has both evolved and grown over the last 15-years, nationally as well as in Sussex, with more Women and girls playing at grassroots level than ever before.
The standard and numbers now playing at County level has increased for 2019, which has resulted in Sussex introducing two new teams to their age group squads, to further help and develop players getting to the top level.
The Sussex Girls Academy training camp will comprise eight (8) players accompanied by two (2) coaches, all of whom will be spending their time completing a specific and carefully planned programme of numerous training sessions each day covering technical skills, bowling and batting, strength and conditioning and both individual and group activity.
Grass net practice, both bowling and batting, strength and conditioning work, running, speed and agility work, and fielding exercises will be completed at the Cricket Ground & Academy.
