	Title:	Cricket Ireland Men visit Desert Springs Resort to Prepare for Zimbabwe Tour

The Men’s national team of Cricket Ireland recently visited Desert Springs Resort between Sunday 19^th – Friday 24^th November 2023 in order to prepare for their upcoming tour ODI and T20I tour of Zimbabwe.

 

Fifteen (15) players and six (6) coaching staff utilised the ICC accredited match ground at Desert Springs Resort with players completing net practise sessions, a day of 50 over scenarios and a T20 scenario.  Players also used the Gymnasium at the Sierra Sports Club to keep up with the gym work required of an international sportsman.

 

Desert Springs Cricket Manager Peter Scott commented;

“It was a great pleasure to host Cricket Ireland Men’s Squad for a training camp recently and assist in helping the players prepare for a winter tour to Zimbabwe.  Desert Springs would like to wish Ireland the best of luck in the three ODI’s and Three T20I’s”

 

Ryan Eagleson, Cricket Ireland Men’s Pace Bowling Coach commented;

“It’s a great opportunity for the team to get out on grass and prepare for the tour of Zimbabwe.  The playing surfaces were good and offered pace, bounce and carry through to the keeper.”

 

The players and coaches were accommodated in some of the privately-owned Apartments at Desert Springs and the resort’s executive chef was on hand to cater for the special dietary requirements of individual players dining in El Torrente.

	Title:	Cricket Ireland Men prepare for return to Test Cricket Desert Springs Resort

The Men’s national team of Cricket Ireland will be stepping up their preparations for their return to Test Match Cricket in 2023 with a five (5) day Red Ball Training camp at Desert Springs ICC accredited Cricket Ground & Academy between Sunday 19^th February – Thursday 23^rd February.

Fourteen (14) players and three (3) coaching staff will be involved in a mixture of high performance training, spending their time completing a specific and carefully planned programme of numerous training sessions each day covering technical skills, bowling and batting, strength and conditioning and both individual and group activity.

Grass net practice, both bowling and batting will take place at the Cricket Academy. Match simulations, strength and conditioning work, running, speed and agility work will be completed at the Cricket Ground and Gym at the Sierras Sports Club.

“Desert Springs was host to Ireland’s Girl’s U19 and the Women’s National Team prior to the ICC Women’s U’19 T20 World Cup 2023 and the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 respectively.

The Men’s national team of Cricket Ireland will be stepping up their preparations for the 2022 campaign with a five (5) day Training camp at Desert Springs ICC accredited Cricket Ground & Academy between Sunday 27^th March – Friday 1^stApril.

Eleven (11) players and three (3) coaching staff will be involved in a mixture of high performance training, spending their time completing a specific and carefully planned programme of numerous training sessions each day covering technical skills, bowling and batting, strength and conditioning and both individual and group activity.

Grass net practice, both bowling and batting will take place at the Cricket Academy. Match simulations, strength and conditioning work, running, speed and agility work will be completed at the Cricket Ground and Gym at the Sierras Sports Club.
