The Denmark Cricket Squad will be completing a four (4) day warm weather pre-season training and match play camp at the Desert Springs Cricket Ground and Academy between Wednesday 15th  – Saturday 18th March 2023.

The Denmark Cricket training camp will comprise twenty-three (23) players and four (4) coaches and staff, all of whom will be spending their time completing a specific and carefully planned programme of numerous training sessions each day covering technical skills, bowling and batting, strength and conditioning and both individual and group activity.

During their stay Denmark will undertake grass net practice which will take place at the Cricket Academy and three internal T20 matches on the ICC accredited match ground at Desert Springs Resort; as always spectators are more than welcome to take in the action.

 

Match Schedule:

Friday 17th March

  • Match 1 – 10:00
  • Match 2 – 14:30

Saturday 18th March

  • Match 3 – 10:00

The players and coaches will be accommodated in some of the privately-owned Apartments and townhouses at Desert Springs and the resort’s executive chef will be on hand to cater for the special dietary requirements of individual players dining in the Crocodile Club Restaurant.

Title: Denmark National team complete successful training camp at Desert Springs Resort

Fourteen (14) members of the Denmark Men’s National Cricket Team accompanied by three (3) coaching staff are now back in Denmark having completed a successful three (3) day training camp between Sunday 12th – Wednesday 15th September at Desert Springs Resort, Europe’s only international award-winning luxury family resort and championship desert golf course with its very own ICC accredited Cricket Ground, in the Almanzora region of Almeria, Andalucía in south-east Spain.

“Great cricket facilities and superb hospitality. The food was really good and always on time for the players. The apartments were excellent and well maintained. Thank you, Desert Springs.

The focus of the training camp was to provide an opportunity for the players to both work seriously on their batting, bowling & fielding skills as well as their fitness levels, to ensure that the players are in the best possible shape leading up to their preparation for the forthcoming ICC Men’s T20 Europe World Cup Qualifiers to be held at Desert Springs Resort in October.

Grass net practice, both bowling and batting took place at the Cricket Academy. Out-field practice, match simulations, throw downs, strength and conditioning work, running, speed and agility work was completed at the Cricket Ground.

Ole Roland, Team Manager of the Denmark National Team commented of their training camp at Desert Springs Resort:

“Although only a short visit, the Camp was most beneficial to the squad. Nick was always around to help us and make sure our logistical requirements were met. Due to some rain on day one we needed flexibility, and this was provided. The opportunity to talk about and plan future events was also welcome, and we enjoyed our short stay at Desert Springs.”

Denmark player Omar Hayat commented;

“The facilities at Desert Springs have been excellent with wonderful surroundings. It is a really well-maintained cricket ground with a good pitch and outfield. The staff have been very kind and looked after us. We are looking forward to coming here again, but for longer next time.”

Denmark player Amjad Khan commented;

“Very amazing facilities and in beautiful surroundings. For the purpose of our preparations for the ICC T20 World Cup qualifiers the resort has been absolutely perfect. We have been well looked after and look forward to returning again.”

Title: Danish Cricket Federeration Men's National Team Set To Visit Desert Springs for Training Camp

The Men’s National Cricket Team of Denmark will be stepping up their preparations for ICC Europe sub-regional T20 World Cup qualifying finals to be held at Desert Springs in October, by completing a three (3) day training camp at the Desert Springs ICC accredited Cricket Ground & Academy between Sunday 12th – Wednesday 15th September.

Between Wednesday 13th– Friday 22nd October, 2021, over nine intense days, four top European nations; Jersey, Germany, Denmark and Italy will compete to see which two will qualify for the World Cup T20 qualifiers scheduled for early 2022. From that final round of qualifiers, the top four teams will compete in the ICC T20 World Cup finals in Australia in October 2022.

The Denmark National Cricket Team has been an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1966, and have previously been a part of the ICC's High Performance Programme.

Eight (8) members of the Men’s National Cricket Team of Denmark, accompanied by Head Coach Jeremy Bray and Coach Keith Dabengwa, have completed a successful four (4) day pre-season training camp at Desert Springs Resort, Europe’s only international award-winning luxury family resort and championship desert golf course with its very own dedicated Cricket Ground and Academy, in the Almanzora region of Almeria, Andalucía in south-east Spain.

Title: Danish Cricket Federeration Men’s National Team Set To Visit Desert Springs for Pre-Season Warm Weather Cricket Training Camp

With the domestic cricket season drawing ever closer, the Men’s National Cricket Team of Denmark will be stepping up their preparations for the 2020 campaign by completing a four (4) day warm weather pre-season training camp at the Desert Springs Cricket Ground & Academy between Thursday 30th January – Monday 3rd February.

The Denmark National Cricket Team has been an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1966, and have previously been a part of the ICC’s Hgh Performance Programme.

Denmark played in the inaugural edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge starting in 2019 as a result of finishing in Division Three of the now defunct ICC World Cricket Leaugue.

In 2018, the ICC decided to grant full Twent20 International (T20I) status to all its members resulting in all Twenty20 matches played between Denmark and other ICC members after 1st January 2019 being a full T20I.After April 2019, Denmark will play in the 2019-21 ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge Leaugue.

The training camp will comprise eight (8) players and two (2) coaches, all of whom will be spending their time completing a specific and carefully planned programme of numerous training sessions each day covering technical skills, fielding drills, bowling and batting, strength and conditioning and both individual and group activity.

Grass net practice, both bowling and batting will take place at the Cricket Academy. Strength and conditioning work, running, speed and agility work will be completed at the Cricket Ground and Gym at the Sierras Sports Club.
