Introduction
In recent months, the Spanish Government has issued detailed guidelines to the hospitality and tourism sector as to how it can operate. Desert Springs Resort is obligated to comply with these guidelines which, you may be reassured, will be rigorously applied.
This Resort has, therefore, taken certain operational decisions in order that it can comply with the guidelines. Whilst this has meant that there are restrictions as to the availability of Resort
Facilities, these decisions have been reached with the health and welfare of staff, owners, and guests as the priority. It is based on information known on 9th February 2021 and will be subject to change at short notice as Government guidelines evolve.
Other areas covered by the guidelines are restrictions in movement between municipalities and provinces and curfews. These restrictions are well observed and monitored by the Local and National Police. The Lodge will provide updates nearer to your arrival date, so you are fully advised.
We are proud to announce that we have been awarded the ‘Andalucía Segura’ (Andalucía Safe) certificate which states that we comply with the Security measures and material necessary for health protection as set out in the official Junta de Andalucía Tourism Guide.
All our team members have received specific training in the guidelines and enhanced cleaning and hygiene measures have been put in place across all properties and facilities, aiming to provide safe and clean environments for our guests and colleagues.

"This was my second time out to Desert Springs and it certainly won't be the last. Just an hour from Almeria airport, this resort is a perfect holiday getaway. From minute one we were extremely well looked after and the service from all members of staff was truly first class throughout.
We played golf most mornings and the course is a privilege to play. Each hole offers a different challenge and the scenery is spectacular. Again, the service was brilliant and the staff made sure we had refreshments all the way round, I can recommend the chicken sandwich! The practice greens, driving range and option to rent clubs were all welcome additions too.
We ate at the clubhouse every night and the food was great, as was the selection of wine and service from the waiting staff. The clubhouse is a fantastic place to relax in the evenings, either out on the terrace or on the sofa infront of the fire.
Desert Springs is a hidden gem and excellent value for what you're getting. Whether you want to play sport everyday or just relax by the pool, this place will provide exactly what you want.

1 Resort Reception
From 1st February to 31st May will be open: Monday to Sunday 08:00hrs. to 13:00hrs.
From 1st June to 31st August will be open: Monday to Sunday 08:00hrs. to 18:00hrs.
Please respect the social distancing markers and use the anti-bacterial gel on entry and departure from the building.
2 The Indiana Golf Course
From 1st February to 31st May, tee times will be available:
Monday to Sunday 08.00hrs. – 13.00hrs. and course closure will be at 17.30hrs.
From 1st June to 31st August, tee times will be available:
Monday to Sunday 08.00hrs. – 17.30hrs. and course closure will be at 19.00hrs.
All tee time reservation requests must be made preferably online, or by email to golfreservations@almanzora.com or by calling the Resort Reception during opening hours on +34 950 091 518
Golf buggies, if required, must be reserved when booking tee times.
From 1st to 28th February and 1st June to 31st August, the driving range will be open:
Monday to Sunday 08.00 hrs. to 19.00hrs.
From 1st March to 31st May, the driving range will be closed.
The chipping and putting greens are open every day from 08.00hrs. to 20.00hrs. with players using their own golf balls.
3 El Torrente
Is currently closed.
From 1st June to 8th July, the bar and restaurant will be open:
Tuesday to Sunday 12.00hrs. to 18.00hrs.
From 9th July to 31st August, the bar and restaurant will be open:
Tuesday to Sunday 12.00hrs. to 23.00hrs.
All reservations preferably online and all payments by card please.
Our staff will be wearing face masks. A cleaner will be on duty when El Torrente is open to ensure our cleanliness standards meet guidelines. External shutters will be open so there is natural ventilation.
4 El Chiringuito Pool Bar and Crocodile Club Pool
From 1st July to 31st August, the pool (maintained by ourselves) and bar will be open:
Tuesday to Sunday 11.00hrs. to 18.00hrs.
All Lodge Guests are entitled to use the Crocodile Club pool free of charge.
5 Las Sierras Club
Comprising Tennis, Paddle, Children’s Play Bunkers, Table Tennis, Beach Volley and Football, external chess – this will be open every day from 10.00hrs. to 16.00hrs. All reservations to be made at either Resort Reception between 08.00 and 12.00 hrs., or the El Chiringuito Bar when open as above, where access arrangements will be confirmed.
The gymnasium is currently closed.
6 Swimming Pools
Lodge Guests staying in Arizona and Colorado villas, all have their own, private pools, which are cleaned twice a week from May to October and once a week from November to April.
For Lodge Guests staying in Pueblo Villas, Townhouses and Apartments, we must advise that all the Communities where these properties are located have decided NOT to open the communal pools. Please note that this is a decision of the respective Owners of each Community and not the decision of Desert Springs or The Lodge.
7 Property Preparation
Your property is reserved from 16.00hrs. on the day of your arrival.
The Lodge has always had a strong reputation for preparing properties prior to occupation to a high standard. Given the current situation, we have enhanced these high standards and quality control. This does mean that property preparation will take a little longer than normal and so there may be a delay on your arrival before we are able to Check In – please do be patient if that is your circumstance.
Check out is at 10.00hrs.
8 Additional Benefits
As a Lodge Guest, you will be provided with the following complimentary upgrade to your holiday package:

9 Personal Protection
Anti-bacterial gel will be available in your property and upon entry to public areas.
Importantly, the Junta de Andalucía currently require that face coverings must be worn whenever you are outside of your accommodation. It should be expected that the National and Local Police will be closely monitoring compliance with this. Non-compliance can result in a fine of €100 per infraction. Please ensure you have face masks.
Anti-bacterial gels and wipes are generally available in supermarkets and chemists. A pack containing one face mask and a small bottle of anti-bacterial gel can be purchased from Resort Reception for €2.
10 The Lodge Office Hours
From 1st February to 30th June, the Lodge office will be open:
Monday to Friday 09.00hrs. to 17.00hrs.
and from 1st July to 31st August
Monday to Saturday 09.00hrs. to 17.00hrs.
Sunday 10.00hrs. to 14.00hrs.
and is available for email or phone consultation should you require. No “face-to-face” meetings can be held.
Outside of these hours, the office is unmanned.
Desert Springs staff will be wearing face masks and will do their utmost to socially distance correctly amongst themselves and when interacting with the public. Your assistance in this is appreciated.
