“Another relaxing week at Desert Springs"

Escaped England for some late Autumn sunshine at Desert Springs.

Stayed in apt 231 again which was home from home and provided all that we required.

Resort had a fair number of golfers out on the course but generally quiet.

It was fantastic to walk around the course at sunset to enjoy the stuning views.

If you want to explore the area, a car is essential- but they are cheap to rent and worth it to visit the restaurants in Vera and Mojacar etc. If possible visit the castle at Lorca- great value and very interesting too.

Beaches in autumn are empty and the area does feel somewhat 'closed for the winter' but if you want to relax and do some reading between golf and tennis- then this is a great place to re-charge while soaking up the sun at a comfortable 25 degrees…the sea is chilly though!

“Outstanding ”

I have just returned from a 3 night golf break.
From check-in to check-out, everything went so smoothly.
All the staff were friendly and professional in their manner.
The lodge room 133 was perfect, although it was only used for sleeping and breakfast.
The restaurant offered a fairly limited menu but was exceptional value for money.
Nothing was too much trouble.
The golf course was kept in an excellent condition considering the climate.
I would definitely recommend the resort and will definitely be returning.

Thanks again for a great break

“A Golfer's Paradise in the middle of the Desert.”

A group of us visited our friend, Paddy, who has a villa in the Resort.

The villas and apartments are superb, equipped with everything you could wish for.

The staff at the clubhouse, restaurant and on the course were great – very helpful, spoke great English, and were very knowledgeable about all aspects of the resort.

We had a great meal in the Clubhouse when we first got there (try the fillet of beef starter!), and this set the standard for the rest of the week.

The golf course is challenging, to say the least! As a high handicapper, it took me a few days to realise that 'course management' is essential!

The surrounding towns and villages have great restaurants and tapas bars, and the locals are very friendly – El Castillio Tapas Bar in Cuevas is definitely worth a visit.

“A beautiful oasis in the middle of the desert”

We recently returned from a family holiday to Desert Springs and are already looking forward to our next visit.

It was a lovely, easy, relaxing holiday which isn't always easy with young children.
The resort itself was beautiful, the gardens and golf course immaculate.

The properties are designed in the moorish style and the colours go well with the surroundings.

The restaurants serve good, reasonably priced food and have a children's menu which went down well with my fairly fussy children, even the shark steak!

There are plenty of sporty activities if you're feeling energetic and there is even a kids club which sounded great fun although mine didn't actually go.

There are lovely beaches and restaurants only a short drive away (car hire essential).

We don't usually return to the same place on holiday, but for Desert Springs I think we will be making an exception!

“Desert Springs is fantastic”

A group of 4 guys and myself booked a golfing holiday and we decided on Desert Springs.

We stayed at 8 La Rosa in the La Rosa area of the resort.

It was beautiful, quite, and private, just what we were looking for.

The villa looked down the 1st fairway and up the 18th fairway and over a small lake with palms and cacti, and has a view of the mountains in the far distance.

The golf course is absolutely brilliant and challenging.

There are plenty of other activities to play like tennis and football if you need a break from golf.

There is plenty to explore around the local area too and numerous beaches.

We had a great time.

“Beautiful and comfortable”

What a beautiful golf course!

Desert Springs is a well planned and exceptionally well kept technical course

Our villa was comfortable and well located for both the club house and the first green with great views down the fairway.

The pool is shared between a small community of villas within electric gates.

Our overall impression was of a very calm, quiet and sophisticated holiday, away from the crowds of the costas.

“Best All Round Family Holiday Ever”

This year I took my family of 13, for what turned out to be our best holiday ever, to the fabulous resort of Desert Springs in Spain.

We were looked after fantastically well from start to finish.

I can honestly say it was the best ever all round family holiday we have ever shared, with pools, day spa, children's play area, golf, nearby beach, delicious food and drink (even freshly squeezed juice from their own oranges!).

Our villas with pools, barbecues and beautiful rooms were stunning and every morning we started with a delicious breakfast in the Clubhouse to set us up for our day.

Next year we are planning a return to celebrate my 65th birthday as this holiday was such a great success.

“A superb 5 days of golf and relaxation”

To start with the drive from the Airport is very simple and quick! (we used Murcia as it has loads of flight options).
The drive is through scenic desert landscape with sea on one side and mountains on the other. (do download the helpful instructions off the web site)

The entrance winds up a hill side surrounded by orange trees and at the top the stunningly coloured villas and townhouses come into view. You next come across the remarkably green fairways set against the desert surrounds and bright flowers.

We had chosen to share a villa with some friends so we could have our own pool and be right among the course.
On arrival at The Clubhouse we were met by the reception staff who were very welcoming and ran through all the details. They spoke excellent english and talked us through the golf and other activities both in the local area and on the resort. Our Group was then taken to our villa in Buena Vista.

The Villa was amazing! It had great views through the valley with a glimpse of the sea at the end. We had our own pool and BBQ which was great for evening meals! Inside there was a fully fitted kitchen and plenty of space.

As we had booked 5 days we decided to make use of the resort restaurant for a couple of evening meals and of course breakfast, either before our early starts on the course or after a more relaxed lye in. The staff in El Torrente were great and got to know us quickly.

The location is great with so many beaches nearby – the couple we went to had charming little Beach Bars for drinks and bites to eat.

Already signing up for next year!

We had a brilliant time at Desert Springs, it was all over too quickly unfortunately!

We would definitely visit again, for longer if possible.

Isaac, our son, had an excellent time, made some great friends during the holiday and enjoyed trying his hand at a little golf.

We also met some lovely people and thoroughly enjoyed the superb facilities on offer.

Many thanks to you and your teams throughout the resort for your excellent customer service.

Great holiday, intersting golf course!”

We spent a week at the Desert Springs Resort in June, in need of a relaxing break and wanting to improve our golf. We had stumbled on Neil Evan's website in search of a golf holiday, and decided to give it a try.

It was very quiet in June which suited us perfectly – we had the swimming pool in our complex to ourselves most of the time, and it was already quite hot enough for us. The apartment was comfortable and well equipped. We went for the easy option of half board, and although the menu arrangement was a bit complicated for the dinners, the food was extremely good, and there was plenty of variety considered we were there every night. We also had some very good wine!

As we live in Switzerland we loved the English breakfast every day.

The golf facilities were also very good, and we thoroughly enjoyed Neil's coaching. We had different needs, but Neil was able to coach us both appropriately and we made some good progress during the week. The golf course was a little daunting, but a good experience. And the landscape is amazing.

I would definitely recommend Desert Springs and Neil for a golf break with coaching, and we hope to get back there soon!

Just to say a very big thank you to you and all at Desert Springs for making our stay with you last week so enjoyable.

Everyone had a great time, whether golfing, cycling, swimming or playing outdoor chess.

We all feel much better for our stay with you and we've even managed to bring the Spanish sunshine back to the UK, at least for the moment.

Thanks again to you all.

“A fantastic wedding location”

We were invited to attend the wedding of a very dear friend and were not disappointed with what we discovered at this gem of a place.
The drive from Almeria airport takes about an hour, but the stunning scenery is worth the drive.

The variety in accommodation adds to the uniqueness of this wonderful resort and whilst I am no golfer, you can see how much effort dedication and love is placed on ensuring that golfer's at every level are given the best facilities and resources.

The staff are so friendly, helpful and eager to ensure that everything is as you would like it to be.
The wedding we attended was absolutely fabulous with a ceremony on the lawn outside the club house and the reception and evening festivities taking place in the club house. Stunning, is the only word to describe the location.
My daughter was bridesmaid to the stunning bride and what a fabulous time we had.
I must at this point mention Ellie (Duty Manager), her attention to detail, her professionalism and her "nothing is too much trouble" attitude shone as brightly as her smile. Ellie you are an asset to this wonderful resort.
I should also add here that every member of staff was absolutely fabulous in their endeavours that ensure that we had the best possible time.

We will definitely return to Desert Springs.
Congratulations to you all.

Dear Daniel,

Please accept a somewhat belated thank you to you and your team for helping make my 60th Birthday Dinner such a very special occasion!

Special credit must go to Ellie who did a fantastic job in organising the event and adding her own very special touches to the evening.  The table/room decoration was fantastic and the ambience that was created in the Clubhouse and having access to the lawn outside, where the ham and sherry was served, worked perfectly.  The service was seamless and everyone who attended was very complimentary about the whole evening.  I in particular will remember a very happy day, wonderful evening and great food spent in the company of some very good friends and family.

Jesus in particular should be singled out for special praise.  His "Tasting Menu" was absolutely fantastic – well balanced and of exceptional quality and finally thanks to you too Daniel for your role in "making it all happen" – all very much appreciated.

You should be justifiably proud of your whole team.

Please pass on my grateful thanks to all concerned.

All good wishes,

Linda Kendall
