Guy’s, King’s & St. Thomas Cricket Club (GKTCC) will be stepping up their preparations for the 2022 campaign with a five (5) day pre-season training camp at Desert Springs ICC accredited Cricket Ground & Academy between Thursday 24th
The training camp will comprise eighteen (18) players.
Dating back to at least 1885, GKTCC is the oldest, largest and most successful cricket club at King’s College London and in London; Winning 17 trophies over the last 4 seasons, competing in the highest BUCS division out of any university in the capital.
The modern day GKTCC is a diverse club; Current members are reading degrees in Medicine, History, PPE, Global Health and French to name just a few.
The team will be spending their time completing a specific and carefully planned programme of numerous training sessions each day covering technical skills, bowling and batting, strength and conditioning and both individual and group activity.
Grass net practice, both bowling and batting will take place at the Cricket Academy. Strength and conditioning work, running, speed and agility work will be completed at the Cricket Ground and Gym at the Sierras Sports Club.
Alongside the training, the team will contest a 50-over friendly match with the Royal Air Force Cricket Club on Friday 25th March, as well as a T20 match with Cricket Spain on Sunday 27th March, and Monday 28th March, ahead of their return to the UK.

The players and coaches will be accommodated in some of the privately-owned Apartments at Desert Springs and the resort’s executive chef will be on hand to cater for the special dietary requirements of individual players dining in the Crocodile Club Restaurant.
