The 2008 El Corte Inglés Golf Tournament is a nation-wide golf tour that takes place in three separate phases; Club Phase, Area Phase and Final Phase.
Desert Springs Golf Club has been selected as one of the venues for the Club phase on 18th of May of 2008.
The tournament is an individual stableford competition, open to all competitors. The exact handicap limit is 20.4 for men and 24.4 for ladies. Prizes will be awarded to first and second place within the Men’s and ladies section.
The winners of both the Men’s and Ladies section will also advance to the Area Phase, which will take place at Antequera Golf Club on 31st May 2008 where they will compete in a team event representing Desert Springs Golf Club. The players will be required to pay their travel and accommodation.
The best 4 teams of the Area phase will then be invited on an all expenses paid trip to the Final Phase of the event, which will be held at Almenara Golf Club, Sotogrande on 14th June 2008.
First prize for the leading team at the Final Phase is an all expenses paid trip for 2 persons to attend the 137th Open Golf Championship at Royal Birkdale Golf Club between 14th to the 20th of July.
The runners up receive an all expenses paid holiday for 2 persons to the Caribbean (9 days / 7nights) with the third placed team receiving an all expenses paid holiday for 2 persons to the Gran Canaria.
The entrance fee for this event which includes the 18 hole competition at The Indiana Course and a Cava reception during prize presentation is 10€ for members and 50€ for Property Owners and Visitors.
