The Club Phase of the El Corte Inglés Golf Circuit that Desert Springs was selected to host duly took place on Sunday 18th May.
On offer to the winner of the Men’s and Ladies section was that all important place in the Area Phase, scheduled to take place at Antequera Golf Club on 31st May, where the qualifiers will play as a team representing Desert Springs.
The event attracted a strong field of 60 entrants made up of Desert Springs Members, their guests and golfers from both the local area and from as far away as Madrid.
Bartolomé Sáez Castro with 45 points and Tracy Vincent with 38 points were the winners of the Men’s and Ladies section respectively.
Bartolomé remarked:
‘It has been a great day; the golf course is amazing, full of small details that make it so different, and the Clubs organisation was wonderful. I have enjoyed very much the day and I am both honored and looking forward to representing Desert Springs with Tracy at Antequera at the end of the month.’
The best 4 teams of the Area phase will then be invited on an all expenses paid trip to the Final Phase of the event, which will be held at Almenara Golf Club, Sotogrande on 14th June 2008.
Augusto Lombrera of G2, the organisers of the El Corte Inglés Circuit commented:
