Golfplayer is one of the most popular golf magazines in Spain and its II Golfplayer Circuit is a nation-wide golf tour that comprises 24 qualifying golf tournaments held at selected golf courses throughout Spain, with the Grand Final being held at Golf del Sur, Tenerife.
Desert Springs Golf Club has been selected to be host to one of the qualifying venues for the
Circuit on July the 27th 2008.
The event is open to all golfers and will be an individual Stableford points competition with maximum handicaps for the entrants being 28 for Men, 36.4 for Ladies and 28 for Juniors.
Entrants will be divided into 3 categories: –
Men’s category I (Hcps 0-16), Men’s category II (Hcps 16 -28), & Ladies.
The event will be followed by a cocktail and prize presentation for all competitors provided by Golfplayer with prizes being awarded to first and second place within each category and also the best scratch score. The winners also receive an expenses paid invitation from Golfplayer (excluding travel) to compete in the National Final to be held at Golf del Sur, Tenerife on 20th September 2008.
Besides the main prizes there will also be numerous gifts and side competitions, such as ‘Nearest to the Pin’ on holes 8, 14 & 17 and a raffle among all the players who achieve a natural birdie on the 2nd hole.
As noted above, the event is open to all golfers and the entrance fee, which includes the 18 hole competition at The Indiana Course and Cocktail reception during prize presentation is 10€ for members, 48€ for Golfplayer cardholders and 60€ for visitors.
