If the game of golf wasn’t difficult enough, it is not surprising that the majority of golfers find the rules of golf difficult to get to know and even more difficult to understand! There are 34 rules, over 100 sections and over 200 explanatory decisions, probably giving golf the most complicated rules of any sport.
All golfers appreciate that in a game of great tradition involving a high level of sportsmanship, strict adherence to the rules is essential.
A full understanding of the rules of golf and the courtesy and etiquette with which the game of golf is played with are all important, not only to the players themselves, but also to their fellow players and above all in increasing everyone’s enjoyment of the game.
The PGA Golf Professionals at the Desert Springs Golf Academy have devised a series of instruction classes with the objective of offering to the golfer an easy to follow, practical, and interesting course to provide or enhance a good working knowledge of the rules of golf.
Complimentary instruction classes are available for Members of Desert Springs from the PGA Golf Professionals at the Desert Springs Golf Academy each Wednesday from 10.00 – 11.00 am. Instruction is in the format of practical exercises that cover comprehensively the rules, courtesy, care and etiquette of the game of golf. It also includes a Q&A session on the rules.
