Desert Springs hosted the first in a series of events for women golfers in the Almeria region. The Ladies 4-Ball Competition Day, held on 27th March was won by the team from Marina Golf represented by Jean Kelly, Sheila O´Donovan, Maida McGowan and Jean Confrys.
Team Captain Maida said:
“We are very supportive of this series of events, I am sure that, like us, many women golfers will relish the opportunity to play at Desert Springs on a regular basis in one of the formats on offer, it’s a great way to enjoy your golf, meet new friends and have a great day out at a lovely venue.”
The first ‘Golf 4 Women’ in Almeria Ladies Clinic Day was held at Desert Springs on Monday 30th March, hosted by Academy Director, Christine Langford. Ten players attended the golf clinic and received individual coaching followed by a light lunch and 18 holes of golf and fun on the Indiana Course. The next Ladies Clinic Day is scheduled for 20th April with an entry fee of 50 euros per person.
‘Golf 4 Women’ in Almeria events also include a Mixed Pairs competition held on the first Sunday of the month. The entry fee is 90 euros per pair and includes a 2-course lunch in El Torrente restaurant.
Ladies Fourball Competition Days are also held on the last Friday of every month, with an entry fee of 150 euros per team, including a 2-course lunch in El Torrente restaurant.
Entries must be made in advance, tournament entrance forms are available at the golf reception and you can also download them from within the ‘Golf 4 Women’ section of our official website by clicking here.
We hope that these events will be enjoyed by everyone and, in true ‘Golf 4 Women’ spirit, will encourage members to mix with other golfers from our region and introduce their friends to the Desert Springs experience.
