It is with pleasure that we announce that Desert Springs Resort, Europe’s only international award-winning luxury family resort with its very own dedicated ICC accredited Cricket Ground and Academy, located in Almeria, Andalucía, south-east Spain has been selected by Cricket Ireland to host the bi-lateral series with Cricket Scotland between Sunday 15th and Wednesday 25th October 2023.
Having received One Day International accreditation in April 2021 and having hosted multiple T20 International events in conjunction with both Cricket Spain and the ICC; Desert Springs Resort are delighted to be able to host their inaugural One Day International Cricket fixture on Tuesday 17th October between Cricket Ireland and Cricket Scotland. Following a practice day on Monday 16th October at the Desert Springs Cricket Academy, Ireland, the home team, and Scotland will compete in three WODI and two WT20I fixtures on the superb Desert Springs Cricket Ground.Desert Springs Resort Sales & Marketing Manager, Simon Coaker remarked;

Desert Springs Resort Cricket Manager, Peter Scott commented;
“We are pleased to confirm that spectators are most welcome to attend all matches and admission is FREE, however we must advise that as an official ICC sanctioned event this is strictly on the basis that all spectators follow the clearly defined signage identifying from where they may spectate.
If travelling by car, spectators are requested to park their vehicles within the Golf Club car park and take a leisurely stroll down La Fuente which will lead them to the cricket ground spectators’ area.
We are looking forward to some intense battles between these teams and some great entertainment on our superb cricket ground.
Feel free to bring your parasols and deck chairs and enjoy the spectacle!”
Resort accommodation for officials and players is provided in the apartments & townhouses at Desert Springs and the resort’s executive chef will be on hand to cater for the special dietary requirements of individual players dining at the cricket pavilion and The Crocodile Club.
