Desert Springs Golf Club 2020 Officials Election Results

Voting in the sixteenth annual election of the Desert Springs Golf Club to choose a Vice-Captain, Treasurer and two members each for the Club’s Handicap and Competition Committees for the period 1st April 2020 through to 31st March 2021 closed at 17.00 hrs. on the 31st March. Validation and counting of all votes received has been completed and the names of the candidates elected by the membership are as follows;

Malcolm Lacey, Golf Operations Manager commented;

“The Club would like to extend its thanks both to those members that stood for election and those who demonstrated their confidence in the nominees and exercised their right to vote.
I am sure that all members will join me in thanking Past Captain Patricia Deraedt for her dedication and time given to the Club and welcome Philip Webster as Captain.

As all will be aware, the initial two-week ‘State of Alert’ announced by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez that commenced on Saturday 14th March with national, regional, provincial and local measures introduced throughout Spain to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, including the closure of bars, restaurants, shops and all forms of recreational activities has been extended through to Monday 13th April.

In response to this, we advise that Desert Springs Resort is now rescheduled to re-open on Wednesday 15th April 2020.

We very much look forward to reopening and welcoming all back to the Resort once the events we are all experiencing are behind us.”
