The Mayor of Cuevas del Almanzora, Antonio Fernández Liria, recently attended a ceremony held by the Regional Council of Tourism of Andalusia in Rota (Cádiz) to take delivery of the distinctive ‘Blue Flag’ award.
Counsellor of Tourism Francisco Javier Fernandez presented to Antonio Fernández Liria the ‘Blue Flags’ that were awarded to the beaches of Cuevas de Quitapellejos (Palomares) and Pozo del Esparto.
The ‘Blue Flags’, awarded by the Association of Environmental and Consumer Education (ADEAC), recognise beaches and ports that meet a set criteria and provide numerous facilities. Among other aspects, the quality of bathing water is evaluated; information, education and environmental management; as well as security and services.
Mayor of Cuevas del Almanzora, Antonio Fernández Liria remarked:
“We are very satisfied, because these badges recognise the important work we are doing on our beaches.”
