The Men’s National U’19 Cricket Team of Ireland will be completing a four (4) day training camp at the Desert Springs ICC accredited Cricket Ground & Academy between Tuesday 26th – Saturday 30th October.
The Ireland national under-19 cricket team represents All-Ireland in under-19 international cricket. Ireland has qualified for the Under-19 Cricket World Cup on eight occasions, the most of any European country outside England and were victorious in the ICC U’19 Men’s Cricket World Cup Europe Qualifier held at Desert Springs Resort between 18th -25th September, 2021.
The training camp will comprise twenty-two (22) players and three (3) coaching staff, all of whom will be spending their time completing a specific and carefully planned programme of numerous training sessions each day covering technical skills, fielding drills, bowling and batting, strength and conditioning and both individual and group activity.
Grass net practice, both bowling and batting will take place at the Cricket Academy. Strength and conditioning work, running, speed and agility work along with match play situation practice will be completed at the Cricket Ground.
The players and coaches will be accommodated in some of the privately-owned Apartments and Villas at Desert Springs and the resort’s executive chef will be on hand to cater for the special dietary requirements of individual players dining in El Torrente restaurant.
