Competition Committee

Dear Club Members / Residents,

Further to the last Committee Meeting held on the 14th November, we would like to inform you of a few changes that will affect Competitions within the Desert Springs Tournament Calendar. 

 

Thursday ‘Roll Up’ Competition 

The Thursday ‘Roll Up’ has now been renamed the ‘Weekly Competition’. This decision has been made to save any confusion that you can just turn up and play on that day. Entry to the ‘Weekly Competition’ must be made by midday on Tuesday. The committee has received a request from some members’ regards altering the competition so that anyone can play at any time during that day rather than during the pre-booked tee times. The committee has agreed that the format will stay as originally intended with the competition taking place at a designated time with competitors scheduled to play through a random draw, except for extraordinary circumstances, which will need to be approved by the Competitions Committee.

 

Starting Times for Golf Competitions

In order to avoid potential conflict with visiting groups / players who may tee off before tournament play, which may result in a slower pace of play for the competitors, it has been agreed that all golf competitions will have the benefit of occupying the first available tee times during that day.

 

Desert Springs Community Trophy Date Change

As Members and Property Owners are aware, Tuesday 30th December is the date for the traditional ‘Migas’ being held at the Hacienda. This years ‘Desert Springs Community Trophy’ was originally scheduled to be played during the same day, and in order to avoid an overlap of events and with the intention to provide all with the opportunity to attend both events, it has been decided to reschedule the ‘Desert Springs Community Trophy’ for Monday 29th December.
