Dear Member / Property Owner,
Following the last Committee meeting I wish to advise you of the following matters that had been both discussed and agreed upon by the Officers of the Committee;
Honours Board Competitions
Anyone with a current active handicap certificate will be allowed to enter Honours Board Competitions. However, handicap certificates should be no older than 6 months and for active handicaps only. For those players with an older certificate or a non-active handicap, they must have played at least 2 competitions at Desert Springs in the last 6 months.
These conditions do not apply to members of the RFEG.
RFEG Fees
Can members please make sure to advise the RFEG if you change your bank account as otherwise the fees cannot be collected and your Spanish Federation membership will lapse. Details of how to do this are available from Desert Springs Golf Operations Manager, José Ignacio Olea @ jioz@almanzora.com.
Entry Time For Competitions
Whilst we have tried to be as flexible as possible with regard to the deadline time for entry into both social and honours board competitions, there have been a number of instances recently where entry has been requested after the deadline time. This has created a number of problems to the Golf Operations Staff, particularly with regard to the preparation of entrants score cards and most importantly the publication of the schedule of tee times for participants.
It has been agreed that members will in future be able to enter from overseas via e-mail or phone and pay by credit card or alternatively on arrival in cash. This should alleviate the major reason for late entry. For the sake of clarity:
- All entries after the deadline of 12 noon the day before the competition will in future be refused.
- If players enter via e-mail or phone and do not pay, they will not be able to play the next competition.
Best Wishes
Philip Lockyer
