Between Monday 09th – Saturday 14th April, Charterhouse School will be stepping up their preparations for their 2018 cricket campaign by attending a five (5) day pre-season training camp at the Desert Springs Cricket Ground & Academy.

Founded in 1611, Charterhouse is one of the great historic public schools of England. With four centuries of history behind it, the School is committed to being at the forefront of educational progress in the twenty‑first century.

The School moved to its present magnificent 250-acre site near Godalming, Surrey in 1872.

The team training camp will comprise Twenty (20) players, all of whom will be spending their time completing numerous training sessions each day, accompanied by Six (6) coaching staff.

Grass net practice, both bowling and batting will take place at the Cricket Academy, strength and conditioning work, running, speed and agility work will be completed at the Academy Ground and Gym at the Sierras Sports Club.

The squad will be utilising the Tennis Courts at the Sierra Sports Club during one day as well as enjoying the wonders of the surrounding area by taking a mountain bike ride.

During their stay, there is also a fixture arranged for the Charterhouse School XI to compete against The Rowse Academy XI who are also visiting the resort for their own pre-season preparations during the same period.

Accommodation for the players and coaches is in some of the privately-owned apartments and townhouses at Desert Springs Resort normally reserved for holidays and short breaks and the resort’s executive chef will be on hand to cater for the special dietary requirements of individual players dining in the resort’s Crocodile Club Restaurant.
