Please see attached the varied list of items which will be auctioned on 8th October. Please start preparing your bidding strategy now. A very big thank you to all those who have donated these items.
If you would like to make a bid and are unable to attend the charity dinner, please email dscaptain@btinternet.com with the amount you would like to bid along with any maximum you are prepared to go up to and we will manage your bid in increments for you.
Treasure Hunt – Monday 10th October
Many thanks to Dick and Helen Dunphy for preparing another great Treasure Hunt for all members and owners. This will take place on Monday 10th October and is a great way of finding out more about the area (a car of 4 people is required). We are just waiting for a couple of F&B items to be confirmed and the full details including cost will be published.
Charity Express Raffle
All donations for raffle prizes will be gratefully received as the raffle is a great earner for the Charity and the more prizes we have the more tickets we can sell! Please let us know what you are donating (dscaptain@btinternet.com) and bring the item to the Clubhouse around 16.00hrs. on Saturday 8th.
Charity Day Assistance
If you would like to make/donate any snacks, cakes, savouries, pizzas, tortillas, drinks etc. for participating golfers (who are asked to make a Charity donation when consuming), please contact Lynne (dscaptain@btinternet.com). Thank you to all those who have already promised help.
Calendar Orders
Many thanks to Colin Henderson for taking pictures every month in preparation of the Desert Springs Owners Calendar 2023. Orders can be placed now, again via dscaptain@btinternet.com, and 100% of the income goes to the Captains Charity. The special price up to charity night is €10 after which it will be €15.
Mixed pairs Open
A new mixed-pairs open (guests and members) tournament takes place on Wednesday 12th October. All are welcome to participate in a better ball format, you just have to enter as a mixed pair! An element of the entry fee will go to charity and there will be jugs of Sangria provided for all competitors after the tournament courtesy of the Desert Springs “First Lady”.
