Once again the Captain's Charity week is coming round and this Newsflash outlines our programme of events.
Thursday 23rd October 2014: –
The Captains Charity Weekend will be started with a Bodegas Wine Tasting Evening being held at El Meson Restaurant in Cuevas. We have invited along some local Bodegas (including Barahonda) so you can try their wines and also purchase them, giving us all an opportunity to stock our bodegas and do some early Christmas Shopping!!
Friday 24th October 2014: –
Annual Golf Skills Challenge on the practice ground starting at 11am. This has proven to be very popular (and difficult) and as always there are a few new challenges being dreamt up to further hone your skills.
The Social Roll Up will be in the clubhouse as usual from 18.00hrs. This will be an opportunity for you to vote for your favorite pictures to go into the 2015 Desert Springs Calendar which will then be on sale for Christmas / New Year!
Saturday 25thOctober: –
Captain’s Charity Day Golf Competition and Dinner;
This year’s Captain´s Charity Golf Competition will be a Texas Scramble. Teams of four players with a shotgun start at 9.00am. There will be Mulligans for sale on Friday 24th at the Skills event and at the roll up on Friday evening. They will be priced at 5 euro´s each with a maximum of two per person.
There will also be penalty hazards at each hole marked by a Spanish flag with a 2-euro ‘fine’ for each wayward shot!
Please enter the tournament in the usual way at Golf Reception.
The meal will be in the evening at El Torrente Restaurant with a Spanish theme this year! The dress code is smart / casual / fancy dress in keeping with the theme would be fabulous also…or just a touch of Spanish colours. Arrival 19.30hrs to seat at 20.00hrs. You will need to book and pay for this at reception, then if you would like to reserve tables in groups please contact Ellie on 618 609 978. The menu is available in the restaurant and at reception, should you have any special dietary requirements please let Ellie know.
In order to continue the support to our Charities we will be holding a raffle during the evening, donation of prizes for this is more than welcome, and you can leave them at reception or contact the Captain directly.
In keeping with our theme we will also have a small flamenco show to entertain us after the meal and before we enjoy some music and dancing ourselves!
Sunday 26th October: –
Past Captains Team Challenge followed by Menu del Día in El Torrente Restaurant.
We hope to see you here for a fun round of golf together!
As in previous years we are seeking sponsors for individual holes. You can select which hole your team tees off from. Or if not golfing feel free to donate to charity via a sponsored hole.
Suggested rate per hole of 50€.
The aim of the week is to have a bit of fun whilst raising funds for our two local charities.
Our charities are Asprodalba in Vera and Vivir in Cuevas del Almanzora.
