In May, we announced that Desert Springs had been invited to be host to the Grand Final of the ‘Sir Ian Botham Charity Golf Classic Series’ from Thursday 30th October to Saturday 1st November 2008 to raise funds for Leukaemia Research.
All home owners and Members at Desert Springs were sent a letter from Sir Ian, together with an entrance form which can also be downloaded from within the ‘Special Offers and Next Events’ section of our official website by clicking here.
Last year demand for places outstripped availability and with only 60 places available for the Grand Final it looks as if this year will be no different!
Tournament entrance forms have already been received with half of the places available already taken!
A host of sporting celebrities & legends from the world of Golf, Football, Horse Racing, Athletics Cricket, Rugby and the entertainment industry have confirmed their attendance and support of the event.
Sir Clive Woodward, Steve Cram MBE, Nasser Hussain, Paul Allott, Jimmy Case, Tony Cascarino, Matt Dawson, Justin Marshall, Paul Way, Mick Fitzgerald, DJ Russell, John Inverdale and Vinny Samways are just some of the keen celebrities and professional sportsmen who have accepted their invitation to help their amateur teams of 3 to compete for this year’s trophy; playing 36-holes over two days.
Director of Golf, Simon Coaker commented:
‘It is extremely encouraging to see the entrance forms coming in so early, which both confirms the great success of last years event and the players anticipation for the forthcoming Grand Final. As with all prestigious tournaments such as this, there are only so many places available and we strongly recommend that you reserve your place now to avoid missing out on this really special opportunity to meet, play and have real fun with some great celebrities and sports stars; not forgetting that it is all, at the same time, helping to raise those much needed funds for Leukaemia Research.’
