One of the most popular tournaments within our Clubs tournament calendar is the annual Ryder Cup played between Desert Springs and our friends from La Herrería Golf Club in Madrid. The inaugural event took place in 2006 with Desert springs securing a home victory. Last year, Desert Springs lost away from home, bringing the match score to a draw, one win a piece!
The III Annual Ryder Cup Match is scheduled to be held at Desert Springs over 2 days, Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th October 2008 with 12 players from each club competing in one fourball better-ball round and one singles round, with 1 point for a win, point for a draw and zero for a loss. As in the official Ryder Cup Matches, the scores of each team will be combined to determine the winning team. A total of 18 points will be available from the matches to be played and to reclaim the trophy the team of Desert Springs will need to secure 9.5 points.
